I’ve entered the world of kidnapping and sex scandals (vicariously, you can be sure). After thoroughly enjoying Jeffrey Toobin’s The Run Of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, I’ve read two more of his books:

With American Heiress, I didn’t know too much about Patty Hearst so in some ways this read like a suspense novel. A Vast Conspiracy is opening my eyes to the sex scandals of Bill Clinton in ways I couldn’t understand as a child. If you’re not interested in dedicating the time to read this book, might I suggest Monica Lewinsky’s TED talk.

Toobin is detailed in his writing, so I wouldn’t call either of these quick reads, but I found them both to be fascinating and informative.
