Intro

Inspired by this podcast episode, where the hosts share that they have been keeping tracking of their favorite album of the year for several years (and then look back to see which albums have stood the test of time), I decided to put together my own list, not just starting this year but backfilling every year since I was born. My intent is to include my favorite album at the time, not my favorite album from that year as I see it now. Of course, in some years (especially when I was young), I had to make assumptions.

Additionally, I noticed that in some years I had two or three albums I could choose from and in other years I had to stretch to find an album. I held myself to picking exactly one album for every year.

All in all, I found this to be fun to think through and also an interesting way to help tell the story of my life, as music can bring up very specific memories and take me back to a time and place.

My Favorite Album By Year
